“Mankind was a single community, then God sent prophets to bring good news and warning, and with them he sent the Scripture with the Truth, to judge between people in their disagreements. It was only those to whom it was given who disagreed about it after clear signs had come to them, because of rivalry between them. So by His leave, God guided the believers to the truth they had differed about: God guides whoever He will to a straight path” The Cow:213

The first advice of the Quran to the people of the book is not leave what you have and go with Muslims. It is: Commit no excess in your religion. Stick with what you can prove:
“People of the book, do not go to excess in your religion, and do not say anything about God except the truth: the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was nothing more than a messenger of God, His word, directed to Mary, a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers and do not speak of a ‘Trinity’ -stop [this], that is better for you -God is only one God, He is far above having a son, everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him, and He is the best one to trust” Women:171
